Jessica gave examples of materials to use with our child that would foster independence

Christina Vasques

Jessica has always been a constant source of encouragement and helpful tips when it comes to respectful parenting and Montessori for young children. Recently, she provided me with several examples of how to set up our weaning table, which included examples of materials to use with our child that would foster independence. Although I was initially very nervous, learning how to establish a welcoming, comfortable space has worked well for our very adventurous 9 month old. I have learned so much from Jessica's own journey as a Montessori mother and she has given me courage to trust my child and let her lead! Jessica is a wonderful, inspiring parent and teacher!

Fostering independence with my 1 1/2 year old

Ruth Roose

Jessica Whinery has helped me so much with fostering independence with my 1 1/2 year old. My daughter really struggled with patience when working puzzles and would start screaming and give up after about 2 seconds of trying. I came to Jessica for help and now my daughter asks me for help and can work the multiple puzzles while I sit beside her and only watch. It’s been incredible to watch her learn and grow.

When I had my daughter, there was no doubt in my mind that I would also use this respectful parenting method

Hannah Wangler

Before I even considered having children, I would see Jessica’s posts on Facebook demonstrating how she used the Montessori method with her daughter. I was intrigued because I had never heard of Montessori before and everything I witnessed made perfect sense to me. When I had my daughter, there was no doubt in my mind that I would also use this respectful parenting method, so I reached out to Jessica to learn more because I wanted to hear from someone who led by example. I spent a full day with her watching how she interacted with her daughter and talking about various Montessori teachings. She directed me to some great books to read and even lent me one of her own. I know if I ever have any questions or need any guidance, I can always turn to her.
